ANEW Turns One!

On January 25th, the ANEW Rooftop + Test Kitchen reached an important, joyful milestone: its first birthday!

BBBSEMO recently shared cake and champagne with guests to celebrate bounty — six cakes and popping bubbly to toast the 9, 394 guests, 14 weddings, six pop-up restaurants, and countless conversations about the agency’s mission that all made ANEW’s inaugural year so meaningful. 

The birthday gathering also celebrated hope and promise, ushering in a Year Two already abuzz with new opportunities to fulfill the purpose of ANEW – which, by design and function, is Big Brothers Big Sisters.

The name ANEW speaks to our work.

The building’s fourth-floor rooftop faces east, so when the sun rises on it, the day starts ANEW.

When we welcome all to the table to sit with us, we recognize this site’s troubling past to make history ANEW.

When we gather together and enjoy each other’s company, our relationships are built ANEW.

ANEW is about hope – and promise – and opportunity.

This second year at ANEW Rooftop + Test Kitchen, we invite you to join us in building relationships with family, friends, colleagues, and even strangers in this space… and to have fun and do good with us, for our region’s children and families and the communities we live in together.
