Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri Achieves Gold Standard Status

Ashley Beggs, Executive Director of the Cape Girardeau office of BBBS, accepted the Gold Standard Award at the BBBS National Conference.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri has been named a Gold Standard agency by Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. The purpose of the award is to recognize those agencies that have demonstrated exemplary achievement and quality outcomes for the children and families served.
The local organization is one of 13 agencies across the United States, and the only organization in the state of Missouri, to have achieved this elite distinction. There are 350 Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies nationwide.
“We celebrate this award with the people of the eastern Missouri region and the State of Missouri who partner with us daily in support of our mission to build trusting and enduring relationships that encourage and support young people,” said Becky James-Hatter, President/CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri.
Serving children all over the St. Louis Metropolitan area, St. Louis County, Jefferson County, Scott County, Cape Girardeau and St. Charles County, James-Hatter added, “It takes many people to fulfill this promise to Be Theresm for our Littles – parents, teachers, a Big Brother or Big Sister, agency staff, our Board of Directors, donors and other friends. I think we all can be proud of this award.”
Big Brothers Big Sisters will be recognized for the Gold Standard distinction in front of its peers at the June 2012 National Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C.
