Join Washington University Runners and 'Take Steps for Kids'
Runners and walkers for this year's Take Steps for Kids event are taking their marks. The Washington University Running Club, which organizes the annual race, launched this year's website and is already encouraging folks to register for the important fundraiser which is slated for Saturday, March 23. All of the proceeds benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri.
Event Details
- 4 p.m. - packet pick up and on-site registration
- 5 p.m. - 1 mile start
- 5:30 p.m. - 5k start
- 6:15 p.m. - 150-yard dash for kids
The race starts in Brookings Quad at Washington University in St. Louis. The address is One Brookings Drive, St. Louis, MO 63110.

Registration Fees
- 5K: $25 for adults, $15 for student/child
- 1 Mile: $20 for adults, $12 for student/child
- Bigs, Littles and Parents of Littles are Free

NOTE: There is an additional $5 charge for Race Day registration. A t-shirt is included in the entry fee, but not guaranteed for race-day registration. Registration and sales are final. No refunds are offered.

- Professional timing
- Accurate distance
- Downhill course
- Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome
- Awards to top 5 males and females
- Awards to top 3 in five age divisions
Team Competition
Both the largest and the fastest teams will win awards and a pizza party. Team "speed" will be calculated by the overall places, of the top five runners on each team, taking gender into account.
Raffle and Silent Auction
Hundreds of dollars of merchandise from local businesses will be available for silent auction and a raffle.
