Amazing Effort! Celebrity/VIP Edition of Bowl for Kids' Sake Raises $44,000!

Laughter and good-natured ribbing was the backdrop for an hour of doing good as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri hosted its second annual Celebrity/VIP Edition of Bowl for Kids’ Sake. Bowlers spared nothing to surpass their collective fundraising goal of $40,000. The final numbers exceeded $44,000 affording Big Brothers Big Sisters the ability to match 40 waiting Littles with caring adult mentors.

The Celebrity/VIP version of Bowl for Kids’ Sake invites local celebrities and VIPs to raise at least $1,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters. The celebrities and VIPS then join Bigs, Littles and families to celebrate their fundraising success with an hour of bowling, pizza and more. This year’s event took place at Tropicana Lanes in St. Louis.

This year's top fundraiser was Dave O'Brien. Dave took home the coveted King Pin Award.

Local celebrities and VIPs recognize the importance of the mentoring relationship and are happy to donate their time and energy to this unique fundraiser, according to Becky James-Hatter, President/CEO of BBBSEMO. “They know that their hard work and generosity are an investment in the community,” James-Hatter suggested, adding, “Our celebrities and VIPs believe, like we do, that you can’t abandon children and expect them to be great adults. We need to ‘Be There’ throughout their lives to offer encouragement and support.”
