Bigs In Blue Expands to St. Louis County
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri, one of the nation’s leading mentoring organizations, is partnering with seven area police departments to formerly expand its Bigs In Blue Program – St. Louis City, St. Louis County, Ferguson, Florissant, Maryland Heights, Normandy, and St. Louis Community College. The program connects St. Louis youth (Littles) with men and women in law enforcement (Bigs) to build strong, trusting and enduring relationships between law enforcement, youth, families and the communities they serve.
The program, like other mentoring programs supported by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri, aims to ensure that children and teenagers grow up with love, hope and opportunity; in order to fulfill this vision, young people must be surrounded by caring and consistent adults. In the first year, the goal is to recruit at least 25 new members of law enforcement/police officers to serve as one-to-one mentors to youth in their service communities.
The Bigs in Blue program maintains this commitment to children but hopes to address the strained relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

Twenty years ago, Renaissance Financial CEO and Founder Greg Keller joined our Board of Directors, became a Big Brother (now celebrating 20+ years with his Little Brother, Dominic) and as they say, the rest is history. Recently we announced the creation of the Renaissance Fund – in honor of Greg and the entire team at Renaissance Financial.
The word renaissance means – renewal, rebirth – therefore 100% of the donations, cash and in-kind, directly supports children and families who need special assistance (i.e. utility assistance, replacement of a washer or dryer, car repair).
