Q: What’s your favorite local restaurant?

King of Soul Café

Q: What are a few songs that pump you up and/or inspire you?

Rihanna feat. Kanye West – Diamonds
Keri Hilson – Pretty Girl Rock
Queen – Someone to Love

Q: How would you describe what you do/how you do your job, to a 10-year-old?

I help people get jobs and help them understand how to do their jobs. I make sure everybody is nice and respectful to each other and understand the consequences if they aren’t.

Q: What in your work or life experiences made you think, “You know? I’d like to work at Big Brothers Big Sisters…!”

I have been blessed with mentors for all my adult life and also benefitted from unofficial mentors throughout my childhood. I know how much of a benefit that was to me, and I have been keenly aware, even as a child, that there were a lot of people around me who were not blessed in the same way.

So, when the opportunity to come to BBBSEMO presented itself, I knew I would be a champion for the organization and its staff because of my appreciation for the service we offer to the community every day.

Q: Can you share how you see Human Resources benefitting the BBBSEMO community – especially youth and young people, families, and volunteer mentors?

I see my role as one that will significantly impact our internal partners – our staff. And because of that, they will in turn increase [the impact] of the tremendous work they do for the community.

Making sure staff have something to look forward to every day and putting all the resources in place to make them feel supported, heard, appreciated, and respected on a day-to-day basis will help them go out into the community and make sure our youth and young people, families, and volunteer mentors feel the same way.

Q: What are you most looking forward to as a new staff member at BBBSEMO?

I am looking forward to meeting all the staff and making long-term connections with everyone. I’m also looking forward to meeting our Bigs, Littles, and families, and letting them know that I am only a call away, and a resource to them whenever possible as well.
