Supporting the Whole Child
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri aims to fuel young people's pursuit of a meaningful, stable and independent life through supportive mentoring relationships.
Our mentors develop intensive, long-term, trusting relationships with children who need it most. Each mentor works with ten youth to:
Set positive expectations.
Nurture and promote individual strengths, talents and abilities.
Ensure physical and emotional well-being.
Teach life and academic skills.
Provide enrichment activities.
Model responsible behavior.
Build relationships with families, teachers, and others involved in each child’s life.
Manage multiple priorities to achieve timely goals.
